Kings View Assembly of God Church

God is Amazing! Just wanted to post what is going on in Ione, CA @ Kings View Assembly of God. God is at work here. A couple weeks ago, a woman in the church who had a lump in her breast for at least 3 years was healed! And she has the medical documents to prove it. That is just a taste of what goes on at the church and what is to come.
Currently the church has 30-40 people in attendance on an average Sunday morning. We have about 60 - 70 on our church roster. Sunday morning services start with Sunday School @ 9:30am and Sunday worship service @ 10:30am. The lead Pastors are Rev. Dan & Colleen Epperson. We have a worship team that consists of piano, guitar or bass and drums. Childrens church is offered during the service for Ages 3-11 and we are just starting a nursery for ages Birth - 2. We do have a youth group that meets on Tuesdays @ 7pm and our kids clubs (ages 4-12) meet every Wednesday @ 6pm.
We are currently in the planning stages of building a new sanctuary. Our current Sanctuary seats about 50-60. The new one hopes to seat at least double that. We know that God will provide the funds and so we trust him to do just that. We are adding this new sanctuary to the front of our current building and will remodle the existing structure. Our existing building has a small sanctuary, kitchen, nursery, office and one sunday school room. It is obvious that we need more space.
We are also in need of help. We are praying that God sends us Godly men and women who will move to Ione and join with us to reach this town for the Lord. We need a Youth Pastor to lead the youth of Ione. There are so many Teenagers out here and they complain of nothing to do (don't they all?) Many of them are from broken homes and others may have parents in the prison (Mule Creek is located in Ione). The kids just need to be loved. We are also in need of a childrens Pastor. There are so many kids here. Many of them just roam the streets all day and into the night. Some of our kids we make sure that we feed them before church because their mom is crashed from the meth she has been using for the 3 days prior. It is so sad to see a 6 year old with his 10 year old sister walking the streets until 10 or 11pm and wearing the same clothes day after day. The girl had her hair cut (more like butchered) at least twice a year due to lice. We are the only Jesus these kids will see and we have become their family.
There are so many opportunities in Ione. We are praying that God sends us people to partner with. We know that God has amazing plans for this town and we need to be prepared to take them on.
Ione is located about 35 miles south east of Sacramento, CA and 25 miles north east of Stockton, CA. Rev. Dan Epperson is the full time Lead Pastor and his wife works outside the home as an ER RN at this time. We have a part time Secretary and she is wonderful! There are plenty of jobs in the area. The community is growing and in the next 2 years will have 800 new homes. We need to reach these new people and get them plugged in to the church.

We are working on a website as well. We hope to have the Sunday am services pod casted on that site. We are just trying to figure out how to do that. We are open to suggestions.
